New Xerox colour MFPs deliver 12 ways to keep business productive, green

Johannesburg, 27 Jan 2011

Xerox's new WorkCentre 7545 and 7556 colour multifunction printers (MFPs) are equipped with a dozen features to help mid-sized businesses and large workgroups boost productivity and meet their sustainability goals.

The 7545 and 7556 prints up to 45 and 50 pages per minute (ppm) in colour and 45 and 55ppm in black-and-white respectively and can copy, scan, fax, e-mail, and come equipped with advanced security features. Advanced document management and workflow tools can also be included to make office work easier.

The WorkCentre 7556 was recently awarded BLI's highest Field Test rating: five stars, which less than 20% of tested models achieved.

“Xerox continues to introduce new products that respond to today's fast-paced, changing work environment,”says Erica Marks, product manager in the Xerox division at Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 27 sub-Saharan countries. “This new MFP offers better ways to manage documents, making our customers more productive and efficient, and ultimately, more competitive.”

Exceptional colour

The MFPs offer four advanced features and software tools that give businesses greater control to create documents with superior colour, including:

* Image quality with 1200 x 2400 dpi output resolution;
* Color by Words, a colour-editing tool that allows for accurate and vibrant colours on the first print;

* User permissions that can be set to ensure only authorised users have access to colour printing.

Productivity features

Office workers can save time by using four advanced scanning and document workflow tools, such as:

* Walk-up print and scan USB port located on the front of the MFPs;
* Scan-to-network, mailbox or PC and automatically route documents to a predefined file for fast retrieval;
* Text-searchable files to easily find and search scanned documents; and
* Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform (EIP) technology to design customised workflow applications.

Environmentally responsible

Four green benefits of the WorkCentre 7545 and WorkCentre 7556 include:

* Earth Smart print driver defaults that can be set to include two-sided printing, sample print, no banners and two-up printing;
* Xerox's Emulsion Aggregate Ultra Low-Melt toner and induction heat fusing that reduce equipment energy use;
* LED scanner that consumes a third less power than traditional scanners; and
* Meets ENERGY STAR qualifications.
