New Xerox MFP offers more choice for top-quality colour output

Johannesburg, 30 Jun 2009

Xerox's new WorkCentre 7400 series offers greater choice for quality colour output with features that save costs, energy and space.

The series includes the 7425, 7428 and 7435 and offers scan-to-e-mail, fax and pdf as well as 1200 x 2400dpi image quality. Xerox's Emulsion Aggregate High Grade Toner has smaller, more consistent toner particles that help the MFP to deliver vivid output with sharp image quality and smooth lines.

“Our new WorkCentre series proves that offices can get a lot more from an MFP than just prints and copies,” says Warren Lock, product manager Office Systems Group at Bytes Document Solutions, authorised distributor of Xerox products and solutions to 24 African countries. “These devices are packed with features to simplify work and create professional colour documents to help maximise return on investment.”

They also offer productivity features such as Print Around, ensuring that, if one job is held up due to a lack of resources, other jobs will continue to print, keeping busy workgroups on task.

The WorkCentre 7400 series offers several built-in tools such as Auditron and Xerox Standard Accounting, which regulate and track colour use, which gives users the ability to manage costs by choosing when, where and how much colour they need.

The series also offers two-sided or duplex printing that is as fast as one-sided printing and it is 100% efficient. With print and copy speeds up to 35 pages per minute (ppm) for colour and black-and-white, total paper capacity of more than 5 000 sheets and finishing capabilities like booklet making and hole punching, the WorkCentre 7400 series gives users all of the tools they need in busy work environments.

It handles a wider range of media types and weights, from more trays, than any other device in its class, and supports up to 256gsm and transparencies with separators.

Equipped with Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform (EIP), independent software vendors and developers can create customised applications that are readily accessible from the large user interface, saving users valuable time and simplifying reoccurring tasks.

Energy Star-compliant, the WorkCentre series only consumes two watts of power in sleep mode, which is significantly less than most colour laser products. The series is also compliant with Blue Angel, the environmental award considered the most stringent for information technology equipment. These are also the first devices of their type to incorporate biomass plastic, which produces 16% less carbon dioxide emissions during manufacturing.
