Nissan Motor Company has chosen Verity K2 Enterprise (K2E) advanced search, classification and personalisation software to manage information across its intranet and several of the company`s external portals.
Verity K2E will enable global employees of Nissan and visitors to its Web sites to find information quickly and effectively.
Answers to most of the pressing questions facing a business can be found hidden in the wealth of intellectual capital spread across the organisation, says Garth Wittles, district manager for Verity in SA.
"They`re in the files that are created and stored in your databases, content management systems, file servers, Web servers and a host of other applications. "Unfortunately, the answers must be pieced together from bits of information gleaned from various sources. Without the ability to bring together complete answers, opportunities are missed because your employees, partners and customers don`t have all the information they need to identify them and take action. K2 Enterprise gives companies such as Nissan the ability to bring together the complete answers needed to identify and capitalise on opportunities, accelerate business cycles, and implement and execute effective strategies."
The company also plans to leverage Verity`s advanced Asian and European locales to allow users to find the exact document they are looking for in their local language. Verity was chosen following an extensive selection process because of its market-leading position and the robustness of the Verity K2E product.
"Verity K2E is powering many of the leading automotive companies` Web sites to help their employees, customers and partners to quickly and accurately locate information," says Wittles. "As a key component of Nissan`s knowledge management programme, Verity K2E will bring together all of Nissan`s intellectual capital, making the right information available at the right time to the right people."
