NLG goes green with UtiliPro
National Life Group, a 160-year-old financial services company licensed in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia, has advanced its environmental programme since moving to paperless HR and payroll with UltiPro, states Accounting Software.
With a corporate goal to “go green”, National Life has adopted a number of conservation-minded business practices, including installing solar panels and automatic lighting at its headquarters to conserve energy.
The company began to focus on environmentally friendly initiatives in 2004, when it started using UltiPro, and dramatically reduced its use of paper. Since then, almost all HR transactions have become electronic processes as a result of UltiPro's Web-based recruitment, employee self-service, and training management features.
NHS, Manpower partner
The NHS is forming a strategic alliance with Manpower Software to ease the burden on its current HR systems, says Computing.co.uk.
Through its NHS Shared Business Services arm, a joint venture between the Department of Health and supplier Steria, the NHS will work with Manpower to provide outsourced HR functions for over 100 NHS organisations.
Jim Vincent, MD of NHS SBS, claimed the deal will allow NHS trusts to concentrate on healthcare.
