Huawei’s new MateBook 14 and MateBook D15i3 laptops are now available in South Africa, giving local consumers access to high-performance all-round devices that check all the boxes for style, a premium experience, blazing fast connectivity, portability and all-day-long battery life.
The new Windows10 MateBooks are designed to deliver an ‘all-scenario’ smart experience, so that style-conscious and ambitious young professionals no longer have to compromise or choose between devices for productivity, entertainment and collaboration.
With a sleek aluminium alloy chassis and stylish new design, the ultra-slim HUAWEI MateBook 14 weighs in at only 1.53kg. It features a 2K HUAWEI FullView multi-touch display and is powered by the latest 10th Generation Intel Core processor, with NVIDIA GeForce MX350 Discrete Graphics, Stable PCIe SSD and up to 16GB dual channel RAM, HUAWEI Shark Fin Fan 2.0 for fast, quiet heat dissipation. The MateBook 14 is built for all-day work or play – with battery life of up to 14.7 hours.
Aiming to make premium technology more accessible, Huawei reports that it is building its premium smartphone innovation and advanced technology into its growing PC business, which will see Huawei notebooks becoming an integral hub of smart homes and smart lives. This crossover approach sees the HUAWEI MateBook 14 featuring a 3:2 productivity aspect ratio and bezel-less screen with a high 90% screen-to-body ratio to greatly enhance the viewing experience and give consumers the 14-inch notebook with the best display on the market. The device’s FullView Display with multi-touch allows users to interact with the device accurately, freely, smoothly and intuitively, with gesture feature for capturing screenshots and even the capacity to recognise text on screenshots, and automatically convert it into machine-encoded text for easy editing.
The HUAWEI MateBook 14 also introduces a whole new level of interconnectivity through Multi-screen Collaboration, a function of HUAWEI Share, between HUAWEI MateBook products and HUAWEI smartphones. By building on powerful processing capability and the basic system capabilities of the MateBook, Huawei was able to clear the obstacle between the basic architecture of Windows and Android systems, realising the full potential of seamlessly connecting the two. With Multi-screen Collaboration, MateBooks and smartphones can establish a connection with just a tap to seamlessly transfer content between each other. Smartphones can also access the microphone and camera on the laptop, so users can make or answer audio and video calls without picking up the mobile phone.
For students and young consumers for whom portability and style are a top priority, the HUAWEI MateBook D 15: 15.6-inch Ultra-slim laptop with a FullView Display offers powerful performance, exquisite craftsmanship, stylish design, Huawei Share, Fingerprint Power Button and high-speed connectivity. This MateBook features a 16:9 aspect ratio and recessed camera, with top and side bezels only 5.3mm thick, resulting in an 87% screen to body ratio. Incorporating AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor, Radeon Vega 8 Graphics, HUAWEI Shark Fin Fan 2.0 and Dual-channel memory, it is equipped with two storage devices – one solid-state drive and one hard drive. It also supports G-sensor, a hard disk drop protection technology, and features a dual wireless antenna for fast and stable connectivity. The laptop allows for a multi-screen user experience that seamlessly complements and synergises with all other devices, including smartphones, tablets and wearables.
Available now at the Huawei Store (Online) and Incredible Connection, Takealot, Vodacom and MTN, the HUAWEI MateBook 14 is available on an introductory special of R24 999, and the HUAWEI MateBook D 15 i3 at R10 999, with both offers including a HUAWEI backpack, Bluetooth mouse and VIP service bundle valued at nearly R3 000.
