
Nokia has expanded its entry-level offering with the unveiling of Asha Touch models 306 and 311.
Nokia reports that 40 EA games can be downloaded to the handsets for free, including titles such as Tetris, Bejeweled, Need for Speed, The Run, and Fifa 2012.
The Asha 311 also comes preloaded with 15 levels of Angry Birds and features a 3.2MP camera, pre-installed Nokia Maps, and scratch-resistant capacitive glass screen with polarisation filters, while the social client makes accessing Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp convenient, reports Nokia.
According to Nokia, the Asha 306 is colourful comes with a three-inch WQVGA resistive touch-screen, showcasing multimedia content, as well as WLAN.
These devices, Nokia says, have been designed to provide a smartphone-like experience to consumers who want to be set free from excessive data consumption costs and short battery life.
The Asha 306 and 311 offer a redesigned touch user interface, combining ease-of-use from Nokia's heritage with digital design innovations, reports Nokia.
The devices take advantage of the Nokia browser 2.0, which, according to Nokia, uses cloud technology to reduce data consumption by 70%, meaning consumers can enjoy faster and cheaper Internet access.
The estimated retail prices of the Asha 306 and 311 are R999 and R1 599, respectively.
