Nokia 'Plan B' a hoax

An open letter dubbed “Nokia Plan B”, which was purportedly written by nine disgruntled Nokia shareholders and which, among other things, called for the overthrow of CEO Stephen Elop, was apparently a hoax, reveals Computing.co.uk.

It was reported last week that Nokia Plan B would be brought to shareholders' attention at the next annual general meeting on 3 May.

However, a Twitter account associated with the Web site where the plans were posted tweeted: "In case it's not 100% clear by now: Nokia Plan B is a hoax. There are no 'nine young investors', just one very bored engineer who really likes his iPhone."

Xhead = Huawei offers London £50m

Chinese technology giant Huawei is offering to install a free mobile phone network worth £50 million on the London Underground train system in time for the 2012 Olympics, a report said yesterday, according to AFP.

Huawei is presenting the offer - worth the equivalent of $80 million - as a gift from one Olympic host nation to another, reported the Sunday Times newspaper, without citing its sources.

The company would reportedly install mobile transmitters along the ceilings of tunnels so that travellers can make and receive calls for the first time while underground.
