Nordea sells BP shares

Nordic banking group Nordea has sold shares in BP worth $11.9 million, linking to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, reports Earth Times.

Nordea says it would also suspend further investments in BP until clarification from the energy company on systematic management has been evaluated.

Nordea adds that the group's investments and governance team was also analysing other companies in the oil and gas sector "to identify systematic safety and environmental risks associated with deep water drilling operations."

McAfee enforces total protection

Security technology company McAfee has released a solution for and called McAfee Total Protection for Servers, states The Whir.

McAfee risk and compliance senior VP and GM, Stuart McClure, says: "As hackers have become more targeted and sophisticated, servers are increasingly becoming targets, prompting us to develop a lightweight solution that preserves application and server performance while ensuring compliance."

McAfee Total Protection for Server software includes application white-listing, change policy management, and policy auditing functionality, ensuring that only authorised processes and applications can run.

IT governance reaches the cloud

eGestalt, a provider of governance, risk management and compliance solutions, has unveiled SecureGRC, says Tech Whack.

The cloud-based enterprise software application assists organisations to meet regulatory compliance mandates and address risk management.

Brian Musthaler, principal consultant at Essential Solutions, says: “A general problem that many companies have with regard to security is that they have too many disparate point solutions that are too hard to manage and that fail to provide a holistic view of an organisation's security and compliance posture.”
