Novell has introduced a new training course designed to help Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSEs) and others supporting Microsoft NT take full advantage of the power of Novell Directory Services (NDS) in their network and Internet applications. Titled Course 910, NDS for NT Professional, the course will give networking professionals the directory expertise to function as NetWare 5 administrators in the connectivity area between NetWare and NT.
In addition, because of the training MCSEs have already received, Novell will waive the exam for Course 565, Networking Technologies, as a requirement for Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) status for all MCSEs. Those who complete Course 910 and pass the associated exams will be more than halfway to becoming CNE professionals.
"Course 910 makes it much easier for MCSEs who are not already CNE holders to grow their qualifications by becoming CNE professionals," said Novell channel and distribution manager Martin Bawden. "Not only will it make MCSEs more marketable by helping them understand and become proficient in the directory, but it will also greatly enhance their career opportunities because they will be cross-certified in the two systems found in most companies."
Course 910 is designed to give all students a solid expertise in NDS for NT and to enhance and complement Microsoft training with the unique directory expertise and experience Novell brings to the market. The NDS for NT Professional course will also supply students with excellent skills for working in a multi-vendor environment.
