Novell powers SAP with Linux server
Software vendor Novell has released the Suse Linux Enterprise Server for SAP, aiming to let customers run a range of the German software house's business applications, reveals The Inquirer.
The release could appeal to firms that are looking to consolidate their data centres or simplify their server estate, and will let them run their applications on Linux boxes.
Novell added that users can benefit from faster installation, lower total cost of ownership and support services from SAP while running both physical and virtual systems.
Meanwhile, Server Watch reports that the London Stock Exchange's new trading platform will be supported by Suse Linux Enterprise Server.
Novell's system will enhance the exchange's ability to process high volume traffic at very high speeds and will help improve the performance of the exchange's UK cash markets.
