Building on its continuing commitment to deliver secure identity management solutions for SAP customers, Novell today announced the availability of the DirXML Driver 1.0 for User Management for SAP software solutions that will streamline user administration across SAP applications and with other enterprise systems.
The driver for DirXML, the identity management component of Novell Nsure secure identity management solutions, automates the processes of managing users and their access to ease administration and increase employee productivity.
The DirXML Driver 1.0 for User Management for SAP software solutions, certified by SAP for its integration with SAP R/3 Release 4.6 and SAP Web Application Server (SAP Web AS) 6.20, provides user management that allows customers to deploy solutions that automate the process of creating, modifying and maintaining users and their access privileges for SAP solutions.
Using DirXML with its wide range of drivers to manage users within SAP applications and with other enterprise systems such as directories, databases and applications, customers are able to replace manual processes with automated, rules-driven processes that make it even more secure and cost-efficient to manage identities and access privileges across the enterprise.
"SAP customers have already seen the time and cost benefits by being able to integrate DirXML with the mySAP Human Resources application," said Mirko Rajs, manager for Mieschke Hofmann & Partner, a Porsche services company and a leading advisor for process management and SAP programmes. "This brings proven identity management solutions to the whole line of SAP applications for even greater interoperability. The broad connectivity of DirXML provides our customers with solutions that leverage their current technology investments rather than requiring them to spend money and training time on new applications and systems."
The new driver adds to Novell`s ongoing support for SAP solutions with Novell Nsure solutions that provide a complete secure identity management foundation and allow for automated role-based provisioning. This includes certified integration of SAP applications with Novell eDirectory, the most widely adopted cross-platform directory in the world, and previous DirXML support for mySAP Human Resources (mySAP HR). Novell and SAP integrators also work together on customer deployments and to provide ongoing support after implementation.
"This DirXML driver provides customers a convenient way to automatically manage users within SAP applications and other applications in their enterprise," says Paulo Ferreira, technical manager of Novell SA. "With customised business logic to automate processes, customers can greatly increase the efficiency of managing users and their access to key business resources such as SAP solutions."
