Novell has been honoured with product excellence awards for its security and management solutions at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in Boston.
Novell Nsure, Novell`s identity and access management offering, was selected as the best security solution, while Novell ZENworks 6.5 for Linux management took top honours for best systems management tool. Novell was also a finalist in four additional categories, more than any other vendor.
These awards reflect Novell`s unique capacity among Linux vendors to deliver a full range of enterprise-level networking services beyond the core Linux distribution, providing customers with the tools they need to deploy Linux in their infrastructures effectively.
The LinuxWorld product excellence awards showcased the extent and quality of Novell`s offerings for Linux. Novell`s finalist nominations included Novell Linux Desktop 9 for Best Open Source Solution, Novell exteNd Suite 5.2 for Best Integration Solution, Novell`s Integrated Collaboration Solution, composed of GroupWise, GroupWise Messenger, Novell Evolution and Gaim, for Best Messaging Solution, and Mono, an open source development project led by Novell, for Best Application Development Platform.
"The LinuxWorld awards and strong showing of Novell solutions in numerous categories reinforces the benefit to our customers and the market: that Novell is in a better position to deliver a full range of Linux solutions to the enterprise than any other vendor," says Stafford Masie, managing director for Novell SA. "We will continue to expand our solutions to provide organisations the choice and flexibility they need to lower their IT costs."
