NSS Consulting has launched a groundbreaking business simulation programme, designed to assist organisations in gaining practical experience in understanding the way they operate, and the implications of business process implementation and integration.
Called Sail - Service Awareness through Interactive Learning - the simulation was created by NSS Consulting, which took South African and international trends into consideration into account in its development.
"SA is unique in many ways - and the way we do business underpins that," said NSS Consulting Director Lynda Odendaal. "We`re riding on the back of a massive series of paradigm shifts: apart from the often unusual quirks and foibles of doing business locally or internationally, there are other urgent issues such as the need for genuine business and IT process transformation to be taken into account."
Forward-thinking companies, she said, are constantly evaluating their business and IT service management processes, with adaptability clearly a crucial aspect of the march towards profitability. What Sail achieves, she said, is that it takes into account that evaluation, transformation and general change must - by the very nature of business - involve most employees and not just senior executives.
"Sail revolutionises the way in which organisations assess themselves and adds the benefit of providing guidelines on how best to implement defined changes. The simulation is aimed at every level within a company - from the CEO through middle management and down to worker level. In short, anyone who contributes to the business process in any manner in real life should be a Sail simulation participant," she said.
Sail allows personnel across the board to fully understand how essential inter-relationships and inter-dependencies are in running a successful company.
According to Odendaal, a leading European consulting company had already approached NSS seeking permission to license Sail for the continental market, with additional interest also coming from the US and Australian markets.
