Oc'e South Africa is increasing its footprint into Africa through Datatec Production Printing Services represented by Toby Kirkham, appointed specifically to service Oc'e production printing customers in southern Africa.
Marketing manager for Oc'e South Africa, Peter Enslin, says, "We wanted to increase our reach into southern Africa, primarily Mozambique, Namibia, Malawi, Zambia and Namibia. This is the first year that we are focussing on these countries and we have made remarkable progress in a very short space of time."
Kirkham explains: "Our main objective in these countries was to find a reputable partner that could act as a distributor for Oc'e printing systems in the region. We have achieved this in several of our target countries, although there are still some countries in which we need to establish a presence. We are now in the process of engaging the relevant sectors. The concept of digital production printing is relatively unknown and unexplored in Africa, where traditional off-set printing has always been the benchmark."
Oc'e digital production printing targets many industries in virtually all countries around the world, including South Africa, such as government, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail and graphic arts. However, African markets present unique challenges that include slow economic and financial growth and heavy reliance on donor money.
Kirkham concludes, "Once we have our infrastructure in place, I'm confident that our extensive range of high quality Oc'e wide-format and digital document printing systems will be well received."
