OK Labs' virtualisation preferred

National ICT Australia has reported that its Open Kernel (OK) Labs spin-off has notched up the billionth deployment of its virtualisation software on a mobile device, states Computer World.

The company's OKL 4 Microvisor virtualisation software is said to allow device-original equipment manufacturers and semi-conductor suppliers to incorporate features into new mobile designs more quickly and for lower cost.

OK Labs were spun out of NICTA in 2006 initially shipping its OKL 4 software.
