Oki goes supersonic with flying colours

Oki`s printer passion shines through with fastest desktop colour page printers
Johannesburg, 30 Sep 2002

Printacom, sole distributor of Oki printers, today launched the all new C7000 and C9000 colour laser printer series.

A division of the MB Technologies group, Printacom is first to market with the fastest desktop colour page printer spearheading a visionary combination of speed, quality, cost-efficiency and power.

According to Printacom MD, Neil Rom, the introduction of the Oki C7000 and C9000 printer series to the local market represents a milestone for the company and demonstrates an ongoing commitment to the convergence of intelligent product with the demands of business.

"From a technological perspective, Oki has always dominated having developed and distributed single pass technology for a number of years. This latest offering once again incorporates Oki`s unique single-pass Digital LED technology allowing for both mono and colour printing from the same machine," he says.

More than mere upgrades of previous models, each internal component of the new range has been redesigned, adding a great deal more functionality to the printers. Auto-media detect, print supervision, auto-colour balance and improved drivers offer the business professional improved print management and ease of use.

Through print control software or PrintSuperVision, these intelligent printers can assist management to physically limit or lock out users, thus reducing the risk of excessive colour printing - and lower running costs. "Additionally, toners and drums are replaced independently and this lowers the cost of ownership even more," says Rom.

"Automatic calibration of colours ensures consistency of print jobs. At the same time, the auto media detect feature makes it possible for the printer to automatically detect the weight of media (material) within a tray. Advanced technology simplifies the set-up process - once plugged in, the printer can easily locate and link up to a company`s network infrastructure. Print Supervision Network Management software recognises users, downloads necessary drivers and updates itself to new configurations without any intervention," adds Rom.

This latest series, available to the local market from mid-November, serves as proof of Oki`s leadership through its use of superior LED technology. The company continues to focus on its commitment to corporate communication and the belief that well-printed material is fundamental to business success.
