Olivetti and Tswelepele Computers have been awarded the tender to supply bottom and medium-end copiers to Gauteng Provincial Government institutions, until the end of 2002 when the contract expires.
The contract will see education, housing, safety and security, finance, transport, and health departments, as well as schools, police stations, magistrate courts, Government hospitals and district offices, supplied with Olivetti 9017 and 9051 copiers.
According to the Olivetti dealer accounts manager handling the tender process, Barry Hattingh, the order was secured based on the company`s ability to offer competitive pricing and superior service delivery.
"We have the infrastructure in place to meet the tender demands and joining forces with our dealer, Tswelepele Computers, has strategically moved us into a new arena, that will present new business, and hopefully major growth, opportunities for Olivetti."
Delivery of the machines has already begun and Hattingh says that Olivetti is equipped to deliver the copiers within 48 hours of receiving the order.
Olivetti service provider, I-Fusion, via its Enterprise Management Command Centre, will manage all warranty issues and maintenance contracts, as well as installations.
An I-Fusion/Olivetti help-desk and ShareCall number (0860 555-888) is in place and is manned during working hours by Olivetti-trained engineers for immediate on-line assistance.
If necessary, the I-Fusion engineer will be able to reach Olivetti locally or internationally for immediate e-mail or telephonic technical assistance, while still speaking to a client on the ShareCall line. This will ensure every avenue has been pursued before getting the product in for repair.
Comprehensive on-site copier training is being offered to end users upon installation to ensure optimal efficiency and to prevent technical difficulties occurring as a result of limited product knowledge.
"Although this is the first time Olivetti has tendered on its copiers, I believe this is the first of many Government tenders that we will secure and already, we are working on two similar, potentially massive, projects," concludes Hattingh.
