Online PM course expanded

Project Management Training Online has added ITIL V3 online training courses to its line-up of ITIL V2 courses and project management training courses, states PRWeb.

According to John Reiling, President of Project Management Training Online: "We are pleased to add the ITIL V3 courses to our online project management training catalog."

There has been a great deal of interest within the project management and IT community in ITIL training in general, and ITIL V3 training in particular, he says.

PM assists Oakland County

According to PC World, Phil Bertolini, of Oakland County, says the most important factor in creating a strategic IT department that successfully with and is respected by the business is effective project management.

Project management practices have helped Oakland County's IT department gain the trust of the business.

When Bertolini was named director of IT for the county in 2001, IT was viewed as black hole, and the county's elected board of commissioners referred to Bertolini as "Mr Money" because IT was always asking for funding. Since then, Bertolini has enhanced the IT department's project management office with staff, training and new tools.

PMI holds 2008 PM conference

The Project Management Institute (PMI), a member association for the project management profession, will hold its PMI Global Congress 2008 - Latin America from 10 to 13 August, says PR Newswire.

The three-day event will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Sao Paulo, and it will offer opportunities for project managers to learn about worldwide trends as they apply to everyday decisions.

"Worldwide organisations are confronted with many challenges, the economy and competition to mention two," said Gregory Balestrero, president and chief executive officer of PMI.
