Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software provider, Open Text, has announced that its comprehensive e-mail management solution, Livelink Suite for E-Mail Management will feature the tight integration of e-mail archiving, records management and full-text search capabilities. The new solution is expected to be targeted at board-level and other enterprise departments concerned with compliance, corporate governance and Basel II issues.

The Livelink Suite for E-Mail Management is one of the milestones in the joint product roadmap of Open Text/IXOS and includes the components Livelink for E-mail Archiving; Livelink for E-mail Monitoring; and Livelink for E-mail Management.
* Livelink for E-Mail Archiving: the first of the three components gives an archiving infrastructure to enterprise e-mail systems and covers all fundamental requirements, such as rule-based and interactive archiving as well as a powerful search facility. E-mails and their attachments are transferred from e-mail servers into the archive. Users can still access their e-mails, without having to learn any new functions; an icon simply shows which e-mails are stored in the archive.
* Livelink for E-Mail Monitoring: this solution offers additional, proven functionality for compliance with regulatory assessment and control processes and for managing the rules and time periods for mandatory e-mail retention. These functions are available to the auditor and include powerful full-text search of all e-mail communications in the organisation. If a judicial verification is undertaken, the solution includes a function to block modifications. Additional functions include automatic classification, workflow, spot checks and the logging of auditor interactions.
* Livelink for E-Mail Management: The flagship product combines the functionality in Livelink for E-Mail Archiving with Open Text`s Livelink Records Management Server, the most complete records management solution on the market. Livelink for E-Mail Management applies standard document and records management functionality to e-mail management, including classification, searching and finding, as well as complex rules governing document retention periods and expiry dates. All of these functions are available to the user within the e-mail application.
