Opera Software has released the newest update of its desktop Web browser, Opera 11.50, which is available for the first time in Swahili and Zulu. The latest update also sees the addition of Bengali and Punjabi.
Codenamed “Swordfish”, the Opera 11.50 browser is available for free download and runs on Windows, Mac and Linux computers.
According to Opera Software, the new update has a number of new features, including “Speed Dial extensions”.
“Instead of handy thumbnails and links to your top sites, you can embed your Speed Dial with extensions that keep you updated instantly on what is happening around the Web,” says Opera Software.
“Take weather updates, for example. Why click through to a Web site when you can get the current conditions live at a glance?”
The browser also has a new design and improved features for developers with support for HTML5.
Opera says the new update is the “fastest and most stable Opera browser ever”.
“Almost 1.2 million stormtroopers, droids and janitors can fit into a fully operational Death Star. Nearly 11 million people follow Lady Gaga on Twitter. Now, Opera aims to put those numbers to shame with the number of downloads for its newest browser,” says Opera.
At the time of publication, the site's download counter recorded over five million downloads since yesterday's release.
