Full-featured RAID (redundant array of independent disks) data protection has become a key feature in today`s business IT infrastructure, offering functionality such as increased reliability and availability of storage systems.
At Rectron, an official Intel distributor, resellers and their customers can obtain the most advanced Intel RAID technology that will provide improved server functionality and data protection.
The Intel RAID Controller SRCU42L offers the latest SCSI technology. Featuring two Ultra320 SCSI channels, standard with 64MB of cache, it supports up to 30 SCSI devices and runs on the Intel 80303 I/O processor.
Also available at Rectron is the Intel SRCS14L, one of the first hardware-based Serial ATA (SATA) RAID offerings.
Douglas Downing, Intel business manager, servers, desktops and networking at Rectron, comments: "The SRC14L enables system builders to implement robust SATA hardware RAID data protection quickly, helping them to adhere to time-to-market and low cost demands."
RAID uses a collection of disks of the same type to provide data protection, spreading data across the disks in order to maximise the recoverability of the data if there is a single disk failure.
The economical and modular Intel RAID controller SRCZCR assists system integrators to implement robust hardware RAID solutions, while optimising their server motherboard investment.
"The SRCZCR utilises existing connectors and components by interfacing with SCSI I/O controller integrated on the motherboard through a RAID I/O Steering [RAIDIOS] connector, keeping implementation costs to a minimum."
He adds that although the Intel RAID controllers complement the full range of White Box Intel Server offerings from Rectron, they are not limited only to White Box Intel Servers.
