Oracle South Africa has appointed 2Cana in KwaZulu-Natal as an Oracle Certified Partner in the region. The appointment brings the number of Oracle partners servicing the region to five, along with Dimension Data, Comparex, AST and Infowave.
Oracle runs its KZN operation from its regional office in Berea, Durban. The region has seen rapid growth of Oracle`s market share, and the company reports strong innovation and early adoption of software by customers.
"The acceptance of Oracle products in the region is increasing, because of Oracle`s comprehensive applications offering, powerful database features and its Java-based development environment," says Deon Els, business practice manager at Oracle.
"KZN is an important region for us, and we have some significant clients in KZN that have featured prominently on our global customer reference programme. These include Sapref refinery, and Chep, an international logistics company."
Other Oracle customers in KZN include manufacturers, and local and national government departments.
2Cana has 95 employees, providing a range of software development, implementation and management services to the Oracle user base.
"We have been in KZN for 22 years, with particular emphasis on the healthcare industry," says 2Cana managing director Dave Carson. "We have built up close relationships with our customers over those years, and we have every confidence that we can further strengthen Oracle`s presence in the region."
