Oracle Corp, the world`s largest enterprise software company, today announced at Oracle PartnerNetwork Day the immediate availability of the Oracle E-Business Suite Special Edition, a pre-configured, pre-installed package of ERP applications. The system will be sold in SA exclusively through Oracle`s partners.
The new package, which comprises the financial accounting, sales order management, inventory management, purchasing and manufacturing modules of the Oracle E-Business Suite, is configured to deliver affordability and speedy implementation, which meets the needs of smaller organisations. Available exclusively from participating Oracle partners, the Oracle E-Business Suite Special Edition comes pre-installed and pre-configured on a hardware server, and is ready for the customer to use upon its arrival.
Delivering the keynote address at Oracle PartnerNetwork Day this morning, Bronwyn Hastings, vice-president, worldwide alliances and channel at Oracle Corporation, said partners have become a core competency of Oracle, and are fundamental to growing Oracle`s business. Globally, partners account for 40% of licence revenue, and 70% of Oracle`s application business is influenced by partners.
"Oracle`s research has shown that companies who would buy E-Business Suite Special Edition want to buy from a partner they know and trust," said Hastings. "In E-Business Suite Special Edition, we have provided for the South African market a fixed scope, fixed price application suite that has been localised and tested. Installation is easy and controlled, reducing risk."
E-Business Suite Special Edition follows on the launch of Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition, which sells at US$149 per user or US$4 995 for a two-processor Intel system. "Oracle is removing the pricing barrier to access to its products, and we are also guaranteeing a genuinely seamless upgrade path to our enterprise software," says Hastings.
