Oracle has rolled out 43 security fixes for a range of applications, including its flagship database, Oracle Application Server, E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise and WebLogic Server, states PC World.
The most severe vulnerability, which affects versions 9.2.0.8 and 9.2.0.8DV, can potentially allow an attacker to gain full control of a vulnerable server, according to Oracle.
The patch update addresses eight issues with WebLogic and AquaLogic products, including JRockit, and WebLogic server plug-ins for Apache and IIS Web servers.
Business apps made easy
Square 9 Softworks, a business solutions developer, has introduced Image XChange to its SmartSearch Content Management Suite, enabling businesses to archive business applications, says CMS Wire.
SmartSearch is built on the .Net platform, uses a service oriented architecture that stores documents in their original format. This means stored documents can be accessed by users exactly as they were built with no alterations.
Combining this open file format with Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 database engine, it can be integrated into any other database in the company and provides a platform for easy data exchange.
