Oracle forms Customer Advisory Board for Oracle Collaboration Suite

Bristol-Myers Squibb, BAE SYSTEMS Naval Ships and RGIS Inventory Specialists among customers providing input for future product development
Johannesburg, 20 Oct 2004

Oracle today announced the Oracle Collaboration Suite Customer Advisory Board (CAB), created to develop partnerships with Oracle customers that strengthen strategic product planning for long-term performance and growth. By building customer feedback into its development process and leveraging the experience of the advisory board members, Oracle reaffirms its commitment to aligning its development roadmap with customer needs.

Oracle Collaboration Suite CAB members have joined from a number of industries, including education, financial services, government, healthcare and technology. Sixteen companies are currently CAB members and include BAE SYSTEMS Naval Ships, Bristol-Myers Squibb, The EBS Group, Pemco Aviation Group, Inc, RGIS Inventory Specialists and University of Manchester, among others.

The CAB allows Oracle customers to share real-world challenges they face in leveraging collaboration technology to grow and drive their businesses. The programme provides a forum in which members can share strategies, discuss deployment successes and unveil best practices. Customers also work directly with Oracle developers to create product enhancements that meet their business requirements, in addition to receiving special technical training opportunities.

"Oracle continues to demonstrate its commitment to its customers by integrating our feedback into the product`s ongoing development," said Jason Last, solutions architect, BAE SYSTEMS Naval Ships. "By participating in the programme, we`re able to provide input that enhances our business needs in addition to receiving insight into the product road map."

"Oracle is committed to delivering the best collaboration solutions to our customers. To achieve this, we know that we have to proactively seek customer feedback," said Greg Doherty, vice-president of Oracle Collaboration Suite. "The collaboration market changes rapidly due to new industry regulations, evolving organisational requirements and demanding business environments. Through the CAB programme we can ensure that we`re mapping our product`s development to the direct needs of our customers."
