Oracle South Africa set to launch 11g

Oracle South Africa will be unveiling Oracle database 11g - the latest release of the world's most popular database at the Oracle Open Days 2007 conference and exhibition.

Oracle will be hosting the official launch of Oracle database 11g at Oracle Open Days 2007on the 24th and 25th of October 2007. The event will also celebrate Oracle's thirty years of innovation in the ICT industry while providing a platform for interaction between Oracle and it's partners, users and customers.

Speaking at the Open Days will be VP of Oracle Technology for the EMEA region- Andrew Sutherland.

Sutherland will officially launch Oracle Database 11g and will be discussing the business benefits of the product, including how grid computing can deliver the highest levels of manageability, availability, performance and security while minimising complexity and the overall cost of computing.

Stephen Fearon, VP of CRM On Demand and CRM Sales Development for Oracle will also be presenting a talk entitled 'Surviving and Thriving in the Customer-Driven Age' on the second day of the event.

"Oracle looks forward to welcoming delegates to our premier event of the year," says Martin Dhlamini, marketing director of Oracle South Africa. "A top list of speakers has been confirmed and Oracle believes that visitors to Open Days will not be disappointed with the range of talks and activities we have planned."

Dhlamini says that a core focus of the Oracle Open Days will be on Oracle Database 11g, the latest version of the product which sports more than 400 features and 15 million test hours, and 36,000 person-months of development, making it the most innovative and highest quality software product Oracle have ever announced.

"The first day will be tailored for corporate delegates with illustrations of how the new Oracle Database 11g takes business to the next level," says Dhlamini. "On day two, all technical aspects of Oracle Database 11g and a variety of other Oracle solutions will be covered."

Day one of Open Days will provide conference tracks focused on the public sector, financial services, communications, media and utilities and retail, manufacturing and private solutions. On day two tracks will be provided focusing on solutions for human capital management and compliance, customer relationship management, Fusion Middleware, Database, business intelligence, governance, risk and compliance and SCM.

"The line up of speakers confirmed for Open Days will bring great value to the event with their insights into business and leading technology solutions.
