Oracle to introduce "i-Classes"

Johannesburg, 10 Feb 2000

In conjunction with its training partners, Executrain and CS Training, Oracle Corp SA is to launch a number of Web-based training courses under its "i-Classes" banner.

The courses, covering a wide range of Web-based training curriculae, are targeted at both end user and channel partners, explains Oracle manager Pieter Bensch.

A pioneer in -enabled on-line training, Oracle sees the medium as ideal for high end training.

"We recently launched our Customer Relationship Management course," he says. "It attacks the legacy of South Africa`s poor service ethic, and addresses key e-business methods designed to assist South African companies to become - and remain - competitive in an increasingly Internet-enabled marketplace.

"In South Africa, customer relationships have to be cultivated and nurtured as never before in the face of increasing competition and globalisation.

"The best methods to achieve customer loyalty are through learning about customers` needs and preferences - and then acting on them from a marketing perspective to improve the purchasing experience.

"Internet-enabling technology will play a key role in identifying customers by individual names, addresses and buying patterns.

"In future e-business methods will be basic to establishing a sound business relationship with both customers and the supply chain," he adds.

In a related announcement, Oracle is poised to launch its Oracle Certified Professional Programme using i-learning techniques. This is a international certification programme covering Oracle applications development and applications implementation consultant functions.

The 19 day full time course is available for Oracle database customers and channel partners.
