Orion Telecom has acquired the latest international SMS technology to launch Message Maestro, modelled on international leading SMS technology and highly SMS-active business environment - a product that will benefit local businesses.
"SMS is actually a misnomer in the case of Message Maestro," says Roberto Casso, business development manager at Orion Telecom. "The product is capable of sending and receiving high volumes of text messages and binary code, and has been designed to be used primarily as a business tool and not as a spam tool."
Casso says using cellphone functionality for business processes (business-to-mobile, purchasing and information services) enhances business performance.
"It is a fact," argues Casso, "that anything that brings value to users and customers is good for business. Local businesses will surely benefit from their customers being able to engage in transactions using their cellphones."
"Most companies don`t realise the benefits that can be achieved," he says. "Message Maestro increases the control of information and personalises responses and service accordingly. Savings and returns on investment are instantly visible through reports viewable at the Message Maestro Web portal, which means customers have real-time access to their campaign spend, and can substantiate on how much they are saving compared to conventional call costs."
With the introduction of Message Maestro, Orion Telecom releases a new version of the highly successful Uniserver SMS business solution, which boasts a wide range of functionalities and the option of high speed and/or traditional GSM connectivity. Local businesses will now be able to fulfil the potential of messaging to gain a competitive-edge in the marketplace.
Uniserver SMS still remains a standalone Web-based SMS solution installed on the customer`s site with the facility of connecting to Message Maestro to extend the capabilities of messaging. The solution is very easy to use and needs to be installed only once for it to be deployable on multiple PCs.
Uniserver SMS remains on-site to ensure full customer control of features, eliminating the hassle associated with service providers or third-parties. Backup antennas are also provided to eliminate downtime. Customers are able to print reports, choose which protocol to utilise in order to send messages (SMPP, FTP, Email2SMS), configure rules and triggers, balance network load and open extra connections, depending on their business needs.
Message Maestro is capable of sending more than 40 messages per second, through a virtual private network (VPN) connection to Orion Telecom. However, in cases where security is an issue, customers also have the ability to switch to a direct, secure connection to a mobile network.
Casso thinks the applications for Message Maestro are endless. "For the security force, being able to relay and redirect messages intelligently is invaluable. Automated, rules-based handling of, for example, a photo of a crime, can mean police officers in the area are notified and given a picture of the suspect. Text, e-mails and messages can all be triggered and redirected until the user-defined rules are satisfied. Message Maestro is also able to prioritise traffic according to user or content, for efficient delivery," he says.
Message Maestro can recognise customers` cellular numbers as a user name. This means the company`s database can recognise its customers and create messages for existing or new clients, to personalise service. Sending coupons, photos of items, information about a fault that has occurred, barcodes to validate vouchers and queries for information, or tracking orders and deliveries in message format provides customers with negotiating power and value through this intelligent interaction.
Casso says Orion Telecom is able to analyse business processes to customise a messaging solution to the customer`s needs. Messaging can be carried out at a fraction of the cost of telephone calls in conventional customer service.
