Overland releases REO BCA

Overland Storage is going beyond its roots in disc and tape-based, backup, recovery, and archival into protecting servers, operating systems and applications with the REO business continuity appliance (BCA), reports Infostor.

The REO BCA is based on Overland's REO virtual tape library (VTL), and is designed for both continuous local backup as well as remote disaster recovery.

Key additions to the core NEO appliance include capacity-optimised replication, application-aware failback functionality via an optional failback REO BCA, and the ability to achieve "near zero" recovery point objectives.

Integralis and Computer Alternative Processing Sites (Caps) have formed an alliance to deliver a comprehensive enterprise risk management approach to digital information, real-time operations, infrastructure and supporting managed services, business continuity, and disaster recovery, according to PR Newswire.

Under the terms of the agreement, Caps has selected Integralis as its primary managed IT infrastructure services, managed security services, consulting, and technology integration provider.

Caps will market and sell Integralis services as part of a full range of small and medium enterprise (SME) and enterprise production, business continuity, and disaster recovery products.

BlueBackUp has released its new disaster recovery service, which it says significantly reduces the level of risk for companies by enabling them to restore their business quickly after a major incident, states PR Newswire.

The company says the service is available at a cost that is considerably lower than a conventional DRP, while also providing a broader level of service than its competitors.
