APC by Schneider , a provider of critical power and cooling services, has appointed Eben Owen as Enterprise and Services (E&S) manager for SA.

Owen rejoins the local APC team after transferring to the company's UK office in Reading in 2004, initially as a systems engineer for SME and then as enterprise account manager.

Prior to his overseas engagement, he held the positions of technical service engineer for Africa and district sales manager for Southern Africa.

Owen's work experience began at Eskom in 1996, where he started his career as a training technician, and spans stints with organisations including Schultz Power Systems, in the capacity of sales manager.

Before rejoining APC by Schneider Electric, he was the channel manager for the UK and Ireland at Emerson Network Power.

“APC has never been in a stronger, more strategic position to dominate the enterprise marketplace than now, with the entire Schneider Electric offering providing it with a comprehensive, solution-based value proposition,” explains Owen.

“By becoming a true 'one-stop shop', APC is enabling its to capitalise on more opportunities within the greater product range and I believe that this marks the beginning of exciting times for the company locally.”

Owen will be heading the E&S team for Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban and has been tasked with the creation of a centre of excellence in terms of support, establishing a pool of technical resources. He reports directly to APC by Schneider Electric vice-president for Southern Africa, Paolo Miglietta.
