Oz joins Xbox price cuts

Microsoft is set to drop the price of its Xbox 360 games console in Australia in an effort to give the games machine a better shot at the Christmas market, reports Australian IT.

The fully-featured Xbox 360 Pro will drop from $649 to $579, while the stripped down "core" system drops from $499 to $399 - putting it on-par with Nintendo's $399 Wii. The Xbox 360 price cuts follow similar moves made by Microsoft in the US last week.

The cuts make Sony's $999 PlayStation 3 the most expensive console in the Australian market by an even greater margin.

Fujitsu unveils new LifeBook

Hot on the heels of the LifeBook U810 UMPC announcement is Fujitsu's new LifeBook T2010 Tablet PC.

According to DailyTech, Fujitsu's latest offering will be available with Windows Vista Business or Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.

The 12.1-inch LED-backlit WXGA device weighs 1.5kg and features a slim 1.3-inch magnesium-alloy chassis design. The LCD features a -directional hinge design, which allows the T2010 to be used in a traditional notebook configuration or as a "slate" tablet.

Apple sells Lennon's tracks

Apple has begun selling downloads of tracks from 16 of John Lennon's post-Beatles albums, including "Working Class Hero" and "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band", on iTunes.

The albums represent Lennon's recording output while he was with Capitol Records, a unit of Britain's EMI Group, says Forbes.com.

While many of the late singer-songwriter's solo recordings have been available for download commercially elsewhere, this marks the first time they have been available on Apple's online music service.
