PageTech releases PCLTool SDK

PageTech, a consulting and design firm specialising in print, has released the PCLTool software development kit (SDK) transformation tool kit version 9.0, states IT News Online.

PCLTool allows developers to integrate printer control language applications into document imaging, output management, and print stream optimisation solutions.

The software makes use of the Microsoft .NET Framework, supporting both 32 and 64-bit operating systems.

OKI intros LED printers

OKI's line of LED printers offer energy-saving features and a compact footprint the company says is ideal for small workspaces and cost-conscious businesses, according to eWeek.

OKI Data Americas has introduced A4/letter colour and mono LED printers for the small to medium-size market, expanding its line-up of workgroup printing solutions.

The company is positioning the compact C330dn and C530dn colour LED printers as ideal for small workgroups requiring fast print speeds, flexible media handling and consistent colour output quality.

Canon puts SED on hold

Canon has put the development of surface-conduction electron-emitter display (SED) flat panel technology on hold, writes The Inquirer.

The company says the technology is too expensive to manufacture. SED, an alternative to plasma and LCD screens, will still be researched.

Canon and Toshiba started developing SED in 1999 to create a more energy-efficient display.
