Viruses down in July

More virus round-ups for the month of July with the release of Central Command`s "dirty dozen". The company says the past month has been a quiet one which saw the first big decline in infections of the year. Klez, unsurprisingly, tops the list for Central Command as well, and while it is down on previous months it still accounts for 57% of the infections reported by the company. Elkern, Sircam and Yaha.E are next on the list. Badtrans and Nimda are still hanging around although they are well down the list. "In July, we finally saw a slight decrease in the number of tracked viruses from a prior month," says Steven Sundermeier, product manager at Central Command. "Whether this is due to an increasing awareness of malicious code or simply because more users are on vacation and away from their computers, it`s a trend we hope will continue."

Penis withdrawn from eBay

There have been countless strange items put up for sale on eBay, but TheRegister has found perhaps the weirdest of the lot. According to the "Reg" a man who was selling advertising space on his penis on the auction site has had his offer prematurely terminated. His appendage has apparently been withdrawn from the site, perhaps finally putting an end to the possibility of deep penetration marketing. [More at TheRegister]
