IT services and solutions provider Paracon Holdings` founding division, Paracon IT Services, has been renamed Paracon Resourcing.

Divisional MD Graham Bentley says the name change provides a more accurate description of what the division does as a specialist-generalist IT recruitment operation.

Paracon Resourcing made up 68% of Paracon`s R445.43 million turnover for the year to September 2002.

Following a recent management shuffle, Louise McMillan is to head up the Gauteng branch of the division. Qayyum Parker heads up the Cape office while Pauline Vorster runs the Durban operation.

"We expect the market to pick up well in 2003, with one of our biggest challenges being the sourcing of affirmative action candidates," says McMillan. "As corporate companies are hard pressed to meet their employment equity quotas, many of the job requirements call for highly skilled affirmative candidates, and these are very difficult to find.

"The contracting market remains buoyant, with clients effectively using contractors for resource levelling and for specific projects."
