Parallels targets SMEs with cloud solution

Automation for Cloud Infrastructure (PACI), a fully-scalable solution for service providers to deliver cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to small and medium businesses (SMEs), reports Virtualisation.com.

PACI is a complete, turnkey cloud infrastructure solution, and provides total hosting control, from provisioning and billing, to self-service management and security.

According to CBR Online, PACI also provides an integrated management panel that enables IT professionals to create, scale and manage cloud-hosted infrastructure, virtual data centres and software as a service (SaaS) applications.

Based on a modular architecture, service providers can either deploy the complete offering or select components, which can be integrated with existing offerings.

The platform also provides access to complementary infrastructure services, such as CloudFlare for managed content delivery network (CDN) capabilities, writes Cloud Pro.

“If you look at the stats, public cloud is primarily used by SMEs in North America, who like to dip into it on an ad hoc basis, and Parallels has a good reputation among SMB service providers,” says Roy Illsley, principal analyst at Ovum.
