Sanlam Direct, a division of the Sanlam Group, contracted Cape Town based PDF Consultants to assist in realigning their marketing approach. Sanlam Direct has to keep 4000 advisers and brokers informed of the direct mail offers that are made to clients. This involved sending them communication memos and (when necessary) copies of high quality printed material. This system was found to be inefficient and outdated.
PDF Consultants, a Document Management consultancy, helped define a new approach, whereby the marketing material would be made available over the Internet.
Says Derrick Rosslee from PDF Consultants, "It was imperative to retain the look and feel of the original printed mater in the electronic version, while still keeping the file size to a minimum. Adobe Acrobat`s PDF technology provided the obvious and most cost effective solution, a PDF based information system was subsequently developed and implemented."
