Pedion Technologies signs Elite partnership agreement with Cradlepoint for the sub-Saharan Africa region

Pedion Technologies will install, support and integrate Cradlepoint’s cloud-delivered LTE and 5G solutions for customers across the sub-Saharan Africa region.

Pedion Technologies, a professional services company, today announces a new agreement with Cradlepoint, the global leader in cloud-delivered LTE and 5G wireless network edge solutions. As part of the agreement, Pedion Technologies will support its enterprise customers with a range of solutions that address connectivity challenges for branch, mobile, IOT and 5G environments.

The growth of high-performance wireless connectivity across EMEA

Hundreds of mobile operators have already deployed gigabit-speed 4G LTE on a global scale[1]. This increase in availability, combined with competitively priced unlimited data plans and the emergence of 5G, is set to cause mass disruption in the enterprise wireless market.

As an Elite Cradlepoint partner, Pedion Technologies will provide its customers with LTE and 5G solutions that will ensure reliable connectivity, increased network capacity and remote device integration. Cradlepoint’s solutions will be used across a range of use cases, including IOT sensors on water pumps, mobile routers in security vehicles, branch deployments in new shopping malls to deploy failover connectivity, and private cellular networks (PCNs) in opencast mines.

Cradlepoint’s solutions will be complemented by Pedion Technologies’ advanced mobile data offerings, providing customers – including some of South Africa’s leading financial, insurance and government institutions – with both business continuity and cost savings. These include savings of up to 88% on mobile data costs, and up to 60% on private and public access point names (APNs). Customers will also benefit from defined data pools at both an organisational and departmental level, as well as full administrative control over SIMs, users and group usage limits.

Hannes Rheeder, Director, Pedion Technologies, commented: “Cradlepoint is the perfect fit for our network and security services offering. This partnership agreement will enable us to provide a unified approach to address our customers’ often complex connectivity challenges. Whether it’s connecting a remote branch or a moving vehicle, we’re very confident that Cradlepoint’s solutions will help our customers lead from the front.”

Darryl Brick, VP Partner Sales, EMEA, Cradlepoint, concluded: “This year we’ve found ourselves in an unprecedented technological and economic context. The cost of MPLS connectivity is becoming unsustainable and the pandemic has only accelerated the growing value of agility, flexibility and mobility, which are now imperative to success. As more organisations start to realise the potential of wireless WAN, we are actively seeking partners who can help us take customers on this journey.

“Pedion Technologies provides the skill, quality of service and ethos to help enterprises make this transition, and we’re excited to be pioneering this change with them.”
