PeopleSoft beats SAP, Oracle, Siebel in Forrester ownership study

An independent research study conducted by Forrester Research has found that PeopleSoft scored highest overall in Forrester`s Application Ownership Satisfaction Index.

The survey of more than 600 business and IT users is a comparative, multi-vendor study assessing the software ownership experience across five phases of the application lifecycle: engage, implement, use, maintain and evolve.

PeopleSoft outscored SAP, Oracle, and Siebel in the overall ability to deliver a superior enterprise application ownership experience.

PeopleSoft was the leader in four key categories in the research:

* Engaging with customers: End-users scored PeopleSoft higher than SAP, Oracle and Siebel in establishing a relationship with a company and focusing on the needs of the customer.

* First in application implementation: Companies were more satisfied with PeopleSoft`s ability to help customers quickly realise value from the application.

* First in application use: Survey respondents gave PeopleSoft top score in enabling customers to improve productivity from using the application.

* First in the evolution of the application ownership experience: PeopleSoft scored higher than the other vendors in enabling customers to adjust the application to meet their needs over time.

"Speak to customers of enterprise software and they will tell you that what they really want today is a better ownership experience," says Mike Evans, MD of PeopleSoft South Africa. "What has been delivered to date is just the beginning. PeopleSoft has more than 500 developers dedicated to automating the people-intensive processes delivered in its enterprise applications."

The research study, conducted during August and September, surveyed business and IT users of PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, and Siebel solutions. The study was conducted by telephone and generated 613 responses. The study was designed to measure the overall software application ownership experiences provided by PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle and Siebel.
