ERP.com today announced that the new company within its group that will handle the distributorship of PeopleSoft in Southern Africa has been launched under the name of activ8.
Paul Mather, managing director of the new company, said that activ8 will fulfil the sales and marketing functions on behalf of PeopleSoft in Southern Africa.
PeopleSoft will continue to provide support services directly to both existing and new customers. activ8 has no plans to provide implementation services and will continue to utilise the services of PeopleSoft certified Implementation Partners. "The transition to the new business model has been transparent for PeopleSoft customers," said Mather, "and sales activities have not been disrupted."
Furthermore, activ8 today announced that the JD Group, the leading furniture and appliance retailer, had endorsed the new PeopleSoft business model by selecting PeopleSoft as its preferred technology partner. The JD Group will utilise PeopleSoft`s Internet-based technology as the basis of its strategy to reduce the total cost of ownership by implementing centralised systems accessible from browser-based devices at its stores. The PeopleSoft technology will also be adopted globally by its international subsidiaries.
"PeopleSoft`s Internet-based technology and its extensive product range encompassing financials and supply chain, customer relationship management, data warehousing and analytical tools provided us with an all encompassing solution," commented Ian Child, Director of Information Technology and Communications at the JD Group.
"We are delighted that we have been able to create this strategic relationship with the JD Group," added Paul Mather, Managing Director of activ8. "This a very strong endorsement for the new PeopleSoft business model in Southern Africa and we look forward to increasing PeopleSoft`s market share in this region.
