Dell SA has announced availability of the Intel Mobile Pentium III 500MHz processor for its Latitude LS notebook PC. Business customers who look to the Latitude notebook family as a dependable mobile computing solution can take advantage of the increased performance of this processor without compromising the portability and light weight of the Latitude LS.
Leigh Hancock, marketing manager at Dell SA, says Dell designs its Latitude notebook range for large business and institutional customers who value a low total cost of ownership, a consistent and reliable product, managed technology transitions and efficiency in a connected environment.
At 1.6kg and 25.7mm wide, this product combines usability and performance with a compact design. It has a magnesium alloy chassis, bright 12.1-inch TFT SVGA screen, a keyboard that allows for touch-typing, and also offers the convenience of an integrated 56.6 KBPS modem and Ethernet network interface card.
Hancock says Dell increased its worldwide share of the medium and large business notebook market by 2.2 percent during the second quarter, increasing its total market share in the segment to 18.3 percent.
"This market share growth reflects Dell`s ability to focus directly on the needs of its corporate customers, and deliver products, service and support that ensure a satisfactory overall customer experience."
