Perot Systems appoints CTO

Perot Systems has appointed John Hummel as the new CTO for its global unit, according to PR Newswire.

Hummel will be instrumental in creating and deploying innovative solutions on behalf of Perot Systems' healthcare clients around the world.

"We are very happy to have John with us at Perot Systems. He is an experienced leader, and he will further enhance our position in the healthcare industry," said Chuck Lyles, president of Perot Systems' Healthcare group.

NaviSite rates tops with Klas

NaviSite, a provider of enterprise application solutions, has earned the highest rating in a Klas study that identifies the best application hosting providers for the healthcare industry, based on provider feedback, states CNN Money.

Klas is a market intelligence firm that independently monitors supplier performance through the active participation of thousands of healthcare provider organisations.

NaviSite, including its wholly-owned subsidiary netASPx, LLC, was rated first among a survey of healthcare providers who were asked to evaluate the best application hosting firms.

TI, IIT-KGP

Texas Instruments (TI) has signed a four-year collaborative agreement with the School of Science and Technology of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT-KGP), to develop semiconductor technologies that will help improve the quality, comfort and accessibility of healthcare in India, says Business Standard.

This is TI's first partnership with an IIT on research projects devoted to medical electronics innovation.

The project is a part of TI's recent announcement to spend $15 million towards funding research work in the field of medical technology.
