Phoenix Global Licensing signs partnership with Sappi Fine Paper for distribution of TonerSaver in SA

Johannesburg, 05 Sep 2006

Phoenix Global Licensing, a leading software republisher, is pleased to announce a partnership with Sappi Fine Paper for the distribution of Software Imaging`s TonerSaver - an innovative patented software solution that will reduce the high costs of enterprise laser printing - in South Africa.

Simon Campbell-Young, Managing Director of Phoenix Global Licensing, commented: "TonerSaver is an enterprise software application developed by Software Imaging that ensures the reduction of the total cost of printing in the enterprise environment, without any compromise to print output quality. We see the target market for TonerSaver to be anyone buying paper for use with laser printers. We determined that we needed to find a partner with routes to these markets - Sappi Fine Paper of South Africa fitted this profile perfectly. I am confident that TonerSaver will become the `must-have` software utility for the foreseeable future."

Wayne Davies, from Sappi Fine Paper, said: "Sappi Fine Paper is always looking for new products that will give us the opportunity to provide complementary solutions which can add value to our core products. All users of our products can benefit from the cost savings that the introduction and implementation of TonerSaver will bring. We are delighted to be working with Phoenix Global Licensing on a partnership basis for this product."

What is TonerSaver?

TonerSaver is an enterprise software solution that will reduce the cost of colour and monochrome printing by up to 50% by extending the life of toner cartridges.

How does TonerSaver work?

By using innovative patented software algorithms to optimise and reduce the toner used by laser printers, TonerSaver enables the life of toner cartridges to be extended while maintaining current printing habits. TonerSaver is centrally managed and can be easily deployed enterprise-wide.

Simple installation

TonerSaver has been designed to seamlessly integrate within existing printing and network infrastructure and printing processes. A TonerSaver deployment does not require any changes to printer drivers, as it does not replace or modify them in any way. Instead a small step is added to the process that the operating system uses when communicating print jobs to printer drivers. As a result, TonerSaver is completely independent of the printer driver. This allows TonerSaver to be deployed with minimal impact on existing systems. Once installed users continue to print as they would normally. From the user`s perspective, TonerSaver is completely invisible. There is no impact on the print time or on users` print process, resulting in no additional support calls.

Outstanding output quality

Software Imaging is at the forefront of global innovation in printing and imaging. By harnessing this technology and expertise, it has developed the revolutionary TonerSaver. TonerSaver delivers outstanding output quality while continuing to save organisations money. Companies that have deployed TonerSaver have found that savings can typically be set at more than 30%. Unlike draft and toner reducing modes that may come with laser printers, TonerSaver provides the ability to choose the right balance between cost and quality for an individual organisation, thereby allowing a fully customised optimisation of expenditures.

Key features:

* Advanced patented imaging algorithms to maximise toner savings.
