Johannesburg, 20 Apr 2001

Designed for those who frequently print high-quality photo images, the HP DeskJet 959c offers a high performance print engine along with numerous smart features. Ashley Botha, product manager for HP printers at SDD believes that the HP DeskJet 959c is the perfect printer for photo intensive applications.

The HP DeskJet 959c incorporates HP's PhotoRET III precision technology for natural looking photos. "With HP's photo paper, photo quality output of 2400 x 1200 dpi is achieved," says Botha. A built-in 10x15cm photo paper tray allows you to print photo images without switching paper, he adds.

The machine is capable of Print speeds of up to 11 pages per minute (ppm) in black or 8.5 ppm in colour; however productivity can be enhanced further with the optional duplex unit for automatic printing on both sides of a page.

Some of the additional smart features include HP's ColourSmart III driver for sharper Internet prints; improved driver performance and a job cancellation button. A low-ink indicator warns users to replace the ink cartridge before it runs out while the automatic alignment function ensures clear, sharp images.

The HP DeskJet 959c, available from SDD, is both compact and quiet. It fits easily onto a shelf or on a desktop and its servomotor reduces noise levels. "Producing outstanding text and colour graphics in all modes on any paper, the HP DeskJet 959c the perfect printer for photo enthusiasts!" concludes Botha.

Distributed throughout the sub-continent by SDD and other distributors, Hewlett-Packard is the world's leading manufacturer of inkjet printers for home and business use.
