Pinnacle Micro is a wholly owned subsidiary of the JSE listed Pinnacle Technology Holdings (PTH). It is a major part of this group, and works in close synergy with group members Workgroup, Rentnet and Datanet.
All technical sections are certified ISO 9001 2000 and ISO 14001 2004 (see below). This means that from the production line to implementation, repairs, warranty and even the call centre are ISO certified for both quality and environmental care. Key components used in manufacture and repair, like the high performing Proline power supplies, are SABS tested and approved.
We take our commitment to the environment seriously and have implemented the following:
* Our new range of Nanoware computers are “power friendly” and only draw 150 watts of power, hence reducing the power consumption of the computer.
* Our refreshed Officeware range are 80+ certified. This means that the power supply has a greater than 80% power efficiency ratio and again means that the power consumption of the Proline PC is lower.
* Our Proline monitors are Energy Star compliant. We are also in the process of having our entire desktop range certified by this international compliance agency.
* Through our technical services division, Pinteq, we have signed a sub-contractual agreement with Non Ferros Shredders that collect end of life Proline machines and dispose of these in an environmental manner.
This company has full ISO certification to undertake such work.
* We recently ran an internal competition that rewarded the branch that lowered its energy consumption over a three-month period. We also have dedicated people who ensure that all lights are switched off at night.
* We now offer a green PC as a product - this includes all products that are green focused - such as the hard drive that powers down on inactivity and a 80+ power supply.
We will continue to look for ways to improve our environmental footprint as we understand our commitment to sustainable energy world to operate within.
