Pioneer explains AV receiver tech

Pioneer has established a new Web site with the aim to educate users about audio visual (AV) receivers, reports Smarthouse.

The dedicated AV receiver microsite is part of an overall global initiative by Pioneer “to empower both consumers and retailers with an educational resource when it comes to learning more about AV receiver technology in general”.

The microsite strives to demystify all the latest technological advancements in AV receivers, avoiding the use of technical jargon

RT'E adopts Panasonic projectors

Tyrell CCT, a technology solutions provider for the broadcast and post production industry, has supplied RT'E, the Irish national broadcaster, with Panasonic projectors and related audio-visual equipment for use in top shows, states IFTN.

The Panasonic's PT-DW100 projectors will be integrated into the RT'E studios and are expected to provide remarkable brightness and reliability.

The projectors for RT'E have to be adjusted as they have to be bright enough to stand up against studio lights and cannot fail during live television shows.

Tech enables live surgical training

Belgium's Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc has deployed low-latency H.264 encoding technology from HaiVision to deliver dual HD video streams from surgery to a conference room across the hospital campus, according to Government Video.

HaiVision Network Video's hai1020 series network video systems, equipped its MAKO-HD H.264 codec and support bi-directional delivery of HD video with latency under 70 milliseconds.

This enables visiting surgeons to the hospital campus to interact with doctors in the operating room as they demonstrate surgical techniques.
