Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 wins CES Best of Innovations award

Plantronics honoured by CEA with Innovations Awards for sixth consecutive year.

Plantronics (NYSE: PLT) today announced that two new products have received the prestigious International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards, sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

The BackBeat GO 2 Bluetooth wireless stereo earbuds and charging case have been awarded the Best of Innovations in the Headphones category, representing the very best technology and design of that group. The Voyager Legend CS , an enterprise office and mobile Bluetooth headset system, placed as an Honouree in the Wireless Handset Accessories category. This marks Plantronics' sixth consecutive year of recognition from the Consumer Electronics Association.

CES Innovations winners are selected by a pre-eminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honour outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 29 product categories.

"Evolving and enhancing how people communicate is fundamental to our product development," said Renee Niemi, senior vice-president of Communication Solutions at Plantronics, "Each device honoured today is a simple solution for individuals' complex lives - whether it be a wireless headset system for the modern-day business pro or Bluetooth earbuds for the on-the-go consumer. It is an incredible honour to be recognised by CEA for the sixth straight year, validating that we're innovating in ways that our customers value."

BackBeat GO 2

The BackBeat GO 2 is the next generation of the company's best-selling wireless stereo earbuds for today's always-connected consumer. Leveraging expertise in technology miniaturisation, BackBeat GO 2 earbuds deliver immersive, high fidelity audio quality delivered through a wireless, Bluetooth stereo connection with a smartphone or tablet.

Military grade P2i technology provides an invisible coating that protects the product from moisture or sweat damage. When away from a paired device, DeepSleep mode puts the earbuds in hibernation, extending battery readiness up to six months. The optional charging case protects the headset and increases listening and talking time by two full charges (approximately 10 hours).

The Voyager Legend CS

The Voyager Legend CS is the latest addition to the award-winning Voyager Legend family, designed to provide mobile flexibility without sacrificing in-office productivity. The Bluetooth headset provides workers a seamless experience regardless of location, allowing easy management of mobile and desk phone calls using Smart Sensor technology, which intuitively directs calls to your phone or headset and allows you to automatically answer by placing the headset on your ear.

The Voyager Legend CS features the flagship Bluetooth headset from Plantronics, as well as a sleek charging dock that connects to the desk phone. It is available with or without the HL10 Lifter that allows for remote call control with the desk phone at the push of a button.
