Plantronics, the maker of lightweight communications headsets, announced that it is working with Compal Electronics to bring the advantages of hands-free communications to Microsoft Windows-powered Smartphones.
Plantronics headsets will be included with Smartphones from Compal, which is now distributing a handset based on Microsoft Smartphone software.
The Plantronics headset improves the Smartphone`s functionality by providing advantages inherent to a hands-free lifestyle. "Combining a Plantronics headset with a Smartphone allows users to take advantage of a variety of functions, such as Pocket Outlook or Pocket Internet Explorer, that require the user to view the screen while they`re talking," said Ismail Desai, local spokesperson for Plantronics.
The Compal Windows-powered Smartphone enhances both voice communications and text messaging, and is the ideal companion for the work style and lifestyle of the mobile professional.
"Windows-powered mobile devices are the most expandable on the market, giving customers more choices to add the specific capabilities they need," said Jonas Hasselberg, product manager for the Mobile Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. "Compal has capitalised on that inherent expandability, making a high-quality choice for its customers by providing them with Plantronics headsets."
Compal Electronics, Inc is one of the world`s leading manufacturers of notebook computers, and is an industry leader in the manufacture of communications products. Compal`s headquarters is in Taipei`s Neihu District, with offices in the PRC, South Korea, England and the US.
