PM meets CRM
M'etier, a provider of project portfolio management software and services, will introduce WorkLenz+CRM at Salesforce.com's user conference in San Francisco, reports E-Commerce Times.
WorkLenz+CRM integrates Salesforce.com with the company's pre-existing project management software.
The company, which offers its applications on both on-demand and on-premise platforms, plans to partner with at least two more CRM vendors by the first quarter of next year.
Micro Focus gets e-skills
Cobol migration specialist Micro Focus has joined e-skills UK's Employer Strategy Forum (ESF) for the Information Technology Management in Business (ITMB) degree course, reports ZDNet.
The aim of the course is to help address growing demand for business-focused IT professionals and intends to blend those skills that are generally not ICT related.
"Graduates from non-ICT disciplines have often developed skills in areas not yet widely included in traditional computing courses, such as business, project management, communications and other interpersonal skills," said Karen Price, e-Skills chief executive.
Offshore PM in demand
Ottawa-based Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) will commence a study to provide a forecast of what the state of the Canadian labour market will be by 2012, reports ITWorldCanada.
The ICTC Outlook report also aims to provide insights to the Canadian immigration process in the area of "re-skilling" and re-training newcomers to Canada.
If properly integrated into the Canadian IT supply chain, foreign-trained IT professionals can provide expertise in offshore project management, for instance, a role that will become increasingly in-demand in the labour market, said Paul Swinwood, president of the ICTC.
