PMI approves Meridian
Meridian Systems, a software solutions provider for improving capital programme and construction project performance, has been reviewed and approved as a provider of project management training by the Project Management Institute (PMI), says IT Business Net.
Meridian will also offer a course series at its user conference that has been accepted as a PMI Registered Education Provider (REP) Programme.
As a PMI REP, Meridian will offer eight accredited courses at Meridian's User Conference, which will be held from 29 April to 1 May in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa.
Lloyds invests in PM software
Lloyds TSB has made a multimillion-pound investment in a software toolkit to help improve project management across the bank, states Silicon.com.
According to Lloyds TSB's head of tools, change management services Leslie Gibson, the bank has many hundreds of projects running simultaneously across its 30 business units at any one time.
The toolkit, called PAT from Ninth Wave, allows project managers to plan and execute the various stages of the project, from initial ideas, to formulating a business case, to completion and using work-flow parameters.
OpenAir enhances reporting engine
OpenAir, a provider of on-demand project management software, has released robust functionality that further enhances its reporting engine, reports StreetInsider.com.
OpenAir users now have the ability to create custom calculations using other already-created custom calculations.
This new functionality provides users tremendous flexibility in creating report values specific to their unique needs.
