Potchefstroom City Council implements document management

Johannesburg, 02 Jun 2000

Solit Interactive has implemented their PaperFree document management and archive system for the Potchefstroom City Council. The product has been modified to comply to the standards set forth in the NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF SOUTH AFRICA ACT (ACT, 1996 No. 43 OF 1996) and to the unique requirements of the municipal environment.

"We have implemented the PaperFree document management system in our archives and records department. It has simplified communication between supervisors and staff and the fact that information is readily available makes it possible to deliver a better service to the public. Savings have also been achieved on printing and paper costs." Said Mr. Ben Robbertse the Assistant City Secretary of Potchefstroom City Council. Another benefit cited was the fact that documents do not need to be physically moved from point to point which results in a saving on man-hours and increased productivity. " I can really recommend the Solit Interactive easy to use PaperFree document management system. For the first time goals set for our department are attainable." said Mr. Robbertse.

The system went live after the successful implementation which took only a week. Solit Interactive will be targeting other City Councils to make use of their PaperFree document management system.
